All Marine TAS connects buyers and advertisers. We don't handle payments, hold funds or inspect anything advertised, so a few simple habits go a long way.

• Inspect the item or vessel in person wherever possible.
• Be wary of anyone who won't talk on the phone or insists on payment before inspection.
• Avoid gift cards, cryptocurrency and unusual payment methods. Bank transfer after inspection is normal; upfront deposits to strangers are not.
• For higher value vessels, consider a marine survey and check for registration, encumbrances and survey status.
• Confirm licensing and insurance when engaging marine trades and services.
• Meet in a public place and bring someone with you where you can.
